Imjin heroes

During April 1951 the U.N. forces were attacked en masse by the North Korean and Communist Chinese forces at the Imjin river . The purpose of these attacks was to force a way into Seoul . The Gloucestershire regiment [Glorious Glosters] took part in the battle and won worldwide esteem for their heroic stand at Gloster hill . Many of the Glosters went into Chinese P.O.W. camps but some managed to fight their way through to the U.N. lines . Many Liverpool and Merseyside men fought in Korea the following  are two illustrations are from the Liverpool press .
